David Gergen

David Gergen has served as a senior White House adviser to four US Presidents both Republican (Nixon, Reagan, Ford) and Democrat (Clinton). He was also a senior advisor to Clinton’s Secretary of State Warren Christopher.

Currently, Gergen is a political commentator, serving as a senior political analyst for CNN. He is also a professor of public service and the founding director of the Center for Public Leadership at the Harvard Kennedy School. Gergen is also the former editor at large of U.S. News and World Report and a contributor to and Parade Magazine. He has twice been a member of election coverage teams that won Peabody awards—in 1988 with MacNeil–Lehrer, and in 2008 with CNN.

Gergen is a NY Times best-selling author (Eyewitness To Power: The Essence of Leadership Nixon to Clinton). His just released book Hearts Touched with Fire: How Great Leaders are Made offers a power guide to the art of leadership. Drawing from his 50 years of experience as a US presidential advisor and as a trusted voice on national issues, Gergen uncovers the fundamental elements of effective leadership.
