Steve Schmidt

Steve Schmidt rose to fame as the political strategist for the campaigns of Arnold Schwarzenegger and the presidential candidacies of George W. Bush and John McCain. In June 2018, Schmidt renounced the Republican Party as “fully the party of Trump”. In early December 2020, he stated: “The Republican Party is an organized conspiracy for the purposes of maintaining power for self-interest, and the self-interest of its donor class … It’s no longer dedicated to American democracy.”

Schmidt is a founder of the Lincoln Project.

Robert Shrum

Robert Shrum is the director of Director of the Center for the Political Future USC and the Carmen H. and Louis Warschaw Chair in Practical Politics at the University of Southern California. He has worked on numerous Democratic campaigns, including as senior advisor to the Kerry-Edwards campaign and to the Gore-Lieberman campaign in 2000. He has been described as “the most sought-after consultant in the Democratic Party.”
