Janice Kamenir-Reznik, co-founder and chair of JUDJ and managing director of America at a Crossroads, is a retired attorney. She is the co-founder with Rabbi Harold M. Schulweis (z’l) of Jewish World Watch, an anti-genocide organization founded in 2004. Janice is a long time activist in the Jewish and civic Los Angeles community. As a Los Angeles County Commissioner, she was a key figure in establishing the Self Help Legal Access Centers for unrepresented litigants in the LA Superior Courts and is immediate past chair of the Board of Beit Tshuvah, a residential non-profit addiction recovery center. Janice is married to Benjamin M. Reznik, is mother of three and grandmother of two.
Zev Yaroslavsky is a former Los Angeles County Supervisor (1994-2014) and Los Angeles City Councilmember (1975-1994). He is currently Director of the Los Angeles Initiative in the UCLA Department of History and the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs.
Mel Levine is Counsel at the international law firm of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, LLP, where he counsels clients on international and domestic legal governmental strategies. He served as a member of the US Congress from 1983-93, where his principal focus was on U.S. Middle East foreign policy and the California Assembly from 1977 – 82, where his primary focus was on California Energy and Environmental policies. He also serves as President of the Board of Commissioners of the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power.
David Lehrer was a critical force in the launch and operations of America at a Crossroads. We are deeply saddened by his untimely passing. We continue to be profoundly impacted by his intelligence, his depth, and his extraordinary skills. He committed his life to the pursuit of justice and reason.
David’s life and his memory are and will always be a profound blessing.
