Can America Make Government Work Again? The Crisis of Competence, Populism and Trust

Adrian Wooldridge

Adrian Wooldridge is a prominent British journalist, author and political thinker who writes about the forces reshaping democracy, capitalism and government. He is currently the global business columnist for Bloomberg Opinion and previously spent more than two decades at The Economist, where he served as political editor, Washington bureau chief, and wrote several of its most influential columns. Wooldridge is the author or co-author of numerous books on politics, capitalism and the modern state. His works include “The Aristocracy of Talent: How Meritocracy Made the Modern World,” and “Capitalism in America” with Alan Greenspan.
